Mushroom Gaga Land

The long awaited Mushroom Pot Day finally came..... and that was how we spend our last day of August 2005. I strongly believe even those who hated mushroom would change their minds here. All of us went GAGA over the different varieties of 蘑菇 and most of them totally doesn't taste like ordinary mushrooms. Some tasted like abalone, while some taste like pork! Thank God I had a 1-for-1 treat from SingNet for being a loyal Platinum member.. haa.. still using that damn slow 56kb Modem though. Hopefully they can upgrade mine into Broadband someday... for FREE! Wait long long..... The The treat basically cost $24.80 for 2 paxs, and it comes with a starter appetizer dish, follow by a house specialty, and the main hotpot steamboat (seafood / chicken / combination or were there more choices i don't remember the menu that well?)

The appetizer was my favourite Thai Style "Abalone" thinly sliced mushrooms. Here's a shot of it. The other appetizer was mushroom salad which I would rate it a "pass" only. I really don't mind eating it over and over again! If anyone would like to go there again, can ask me along anytime!

For the house specialty we ordered Mushroom roll.... very crispy and crunchy. We also had the "Monkey Head Mushrooms" which totally tasted like sweet and sour pork... maybe the vegetarian type!

Now for the main course..... Look @ this.... it practically filled up the whole screen on Agnes digicam when I tried to focus and snap. Can you believe 3 gals ate so much..... oops I forgot, we have a heavy weight big brother c.w.

Wondering why Pretty Duckling Agnes not in any of these pictures?? I suspect she deleted all those pics with her in it. She was supposed to send me ALL the pics but I realised she selectively send them to me ;( Now I know the reason! Remembered her saying, "WRONG ANGLE LAH.... LOOK SO FAT!" Even seaweed sometimes during the dinner complained she looked FAT.... and on the other hand kept on eating and eating... hei.. sometimes women are like that! I can totally understand!

All good things come to an end.. like fairy tales have happy and SWEET endings.... so do ours! We treated ourselves with yummie ICE-CREAMS.. Italian Gelatos!

Not long after...... She smiled! Becoz she was able to start indulging on the "forbidden fruit"!

These 2 pics are both Tartufo taken on 2 different occasion (Dark chocolate with liquor and a special inner filling). But I wonder how come they are different?! Do they change the inner flavour as and when they like? Weird!
