The Manhattan Fish Market ~ It's Seafood @ its Finest!

SnapShots @ Manhattan Fish Market

Never knew about the history and good reviews on Manhattan Fish Market until I visited a restaurant named after this popular place in Manhattan. Was enjoying weekend brunch with my friend in this restaurant @ Plaza Singapura level 6 (beside the food junction). Heard that several marketing concepts / textbooks uses MFM for case studies for students to learn about the good service orientation of MFM. High energy, enthusiasm, cohesiveness were the core in the marketplace. Good service is so important, isn't it! Even PM Lee mentioned in his National Day Rally this year. With good service, customers get the good experience not just from the taste of the food, but also the good feeling of good service lingers in the heart and customers will come back for more! Somehow, Singapore seems to be pretty lacking in the area. But once in a while, I do get good encounters with good service personnels and I would not hold back to praise them and give them a warm smile as acknowledgement.

Check out this MFM (the restaurant) website. Seems like it operates on a franchise business concept, having most of its outlets in Malaysia and recently one in Singapore.

Overall, the food is good. Quite fresh, especially the country mushrooms and the Dory Fillet (an ugly fish though.. almost like those creatures discovered during Tsunami... Whatever... It tastes good anyway!). I shared a platter for 2 with my dear friend. For a starter, we tried the crunchy and juicy country mushrooms. 6 pcs @ a price of $9.90. It was fantastic, really! I would use one chinese phrase to describe... 外脆内软又多汁.

One more thing... for coffee lovers, you only need to pay 95cents for all caffeine beverages from 3-6pm everyday, including weekends. We tried latte and it was pretty good but it took us 20 mins staring into space waiting for the drinks to be served. This was the disappointing part of the dining experience.

Hi woman,

I agreed that the dory fillet & country mushrooms r delicious!Hee.. impressed by yr chinese description..bingo! And yah.. not forgetting the latte though we waited for quite some time..ha.. But guessed the latte is really value for money. ;-) U forgot to mentioned about the atmosphere... I tot it was cosy with wooden furnishing, warm lighting and checkers style table cloths. And maybe educational in such dat there is a big plasma tv showing all the various kind of undersea creatures with their names tag to it..ha.. Oh yah.. not forgetting to mentioned their kitchen. It adopts an open-concept style whereby we can see the chefs inside, through the glass panel some distance away behind the counter. :-D
Cheers,
Mae
