Deepavali Procession

A rare sight of this procession... Just down my block, @ the open field. Huge crowd gathered to celebrate the arrival of the Goddess (I believe so), in a very glam carriage.. All Gold in Colour.
Just yesterday night as I was reaching home around 10pm, the traffic was horrifying and traffic police were there to crowd control and large crowd of mostly Indians and also some chinese gathered in this little neighborhood of mine, of where I have stayed for the past 20 years. I got off the bus and managed to squeeze my tiny skinny body through the crowd to take a closer look (for the very 1st time) @ this meaningful event of the year for the Hindus and of course to snap pics. A pity I wasn't able to squeeze all the way to snap the front view of the Goddess.. Too many people; some waiting to get the offerings while some wanted to be blessed by the Priests (Guardians).

This is a pic of the Priests... I think there were 3 or 4 of them up on the carriage.. seems like Guardians of the Sacred Statue to me. The carriage was superly bright-lided and I wonder how many bulbs they used or maybe they have a mini generator. Anyhow, it was magnificent! Apart from that, what caught my attention was 2 very beautiful GOLDEN HORSES. Perharps becoz I'm a horsie myself, tatz why! (born in the year of Horse and zodiac Sagittarius). Not making sense?! ha... Ignore me! I only managed to snap one horse from the side of the carriage. After asking my colleague this morning, I realised they were playing the role of GOD'S SONS. Amazing, isn't it! Many animals play important roles in different religions, if you have noticed.

A word to end.... I believe to embrace a religion is good for the soul! Don't know why I feel that, probably becoz I'm still searching and finding my FAITH! Let GOD decide the path for me. Hwah... sounded so religious! Anyway, today is a beautiful start of a precious weekend. Enjoy!
